Title : Examination of changes in quantitative electroencephalogram parameters in stroke patients with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (rTMS) is a non-invasive therapeutic method that uses an external magnetic field to modify the plasticity of the brain in the treatment of certain brain-related diseases.
Stroke rehabilitation with rTMS aims to promote motor recovery by enhancing neural plasticity to help rearrange cortical excitability. The efficacy of the treatment is evaluated by comparison of the pre-treatment and post-treatment results of some clinical tests which assess the motor functions measured by a physician. Recently, quantitative EEG has been proposed as a potentially robust biomarker for assessing the stroke effects and treatment response. In this talk, we will present the preliminary findings of our ongoing project to examine changes in the EEG of stroke patients undergoing rTMS treatment at Izmir Katip Çelebi University (İKÇÜ) Atatürk Education and Research (EAH) Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic.
